What do we know about fundholding in general practice?

An authors' error occurred in this article by Dr Jennifer Dixon and Professor Howard Glennerster (16 September, pp 727-30). On page 727 the second sentence under the subheading Control of drugs costs should have read: “In Oxford prescribing costs in fundholding and non-fundholding practices increased, but the rate of increase was lower in fundholding practices [not, In Oxford prescribing costs in fundholding practices decreased while costs in non-fundholding practices increased].8
