Provision of services for cleft lip and palate

    EDITOR,—We wish to add a footnote to our paper on the provision of services for cleft lip and palate, published last year.1 In it we drew attention to fragmented services with low volume operators and a lack of leadership from the specialty groups involved. Subsequent correspondence highlighted the threat of a war between competing surgical disciplines.2
