Rabies scare hits US: Health officials in Atlanta fear that a highly contagious form of rabies discovered among coyotes could cause an epidemic among humans. A surge in coyote hunting has meant more coyotes being imported into Atlanta from Texas, where the virulent strain of rabies is endemic in 17 counties and has been responsible for at least two deaths.
