Psychiatric disorders are now being treated in Israel like all physical diseases. Since 1 July people who need treatment may go to the community mental health clinic, psychiatric hospital, or psychiatric department in a hospital of their choice. Their health funds pay for all care, except a 10 shekel (nearly pounds sterling2) fee per outpatient visit in some cases.
