A British gynaecologist has been struck off by the General Medical Council for a “catalogue of failures” in surgery and for “grossly” falling below the standard that the public is entitled to expect from doctors. Nicholas Siddle, 46, was a consultant for 17 years before he was fired from University College Hospital last year. He has said that he will not appeal against the council's decision, which was reached after a five day hearing.
