Child protection report urges more balance

The workload of child protection workers focuses too much on investigations rather than inquiries, to the detriment of whole families, says a new report from the Department of Health. The report recommends that future emphasis should be “on the overall needs of children rather than a narrow concentration on the alleged incident.”
