Antitobacco campaigners have strongly criticised the Littlewoods stores group for its involvement with a system of gift coupons promoted with Benson and Hedges cigarettes. Smokers of the brand earn 10 “gratis points” for every 20 cigarettes they smoke, which can be saved to obtain gifts from one of the Index catalogue shops, which are owned by Littlewoods.
