WHO investigates cannabis cancer risk: The World Health Organisation is investigating a link between cannabis and cancer after reports of an increase in the number of “unusually young” patients with cancer in their 30s and 40s. Professor Donald Tashkin, who is leading the research at the University of California, says that smoking one joint of marijuana is equivalent to smoking about four tobacco cigarettes.
