EDITOR,—Ivor A Mjor estimates that side effects of dental restorations occur at a frequency of between 1 in 1000 and 1 in 10000 treatments.1 In stating this he refers to his paper presented at the National Institutes of Health's technology assessment conference on dental materials in 1991.
