Health education funding to go private

    The British government's main health promotion agency, the Health Education Authority (HEA) is to be all but privatised under plans revealed by health minister Gerald Malone. From 1996 the HEA will become largely self financing on the basis of contracts it wins from government departments, from the private sector, and on the international market.
