A deadline is a deadline, as the Prof said before he left for the airport, but I don't see why he should ask me to write his column for him. I think that's the registrar's job. It's a mean trick making the SHO do it. Still, maybe it was meant kindly. He said it counts as a publication. Perhaps he recognised my facility with language from my stylish discharge letters.
