Patients could pay close to the full cost of advanced NHS dental treatment under proposals contained in a government green paper published last week. The paper, Improving NHS Dentistry, says that charges for routine examinations could then be reduced. Patients with no exemptions currently pay 80% of the cost of their dental care.
