A consultant paediatrician in Britain who had been suspended on full pay for nearly 12 years after a complaint about her behaviour with colleagues won her case last week. North Thames Regional Health Authority settled Bridget O'Connell's claim for an undisclosed sum and allowed her to take early retirement with the status of honorary consultant. Dr O'Connell, aged 59, has been pursuing legal proceedings for breach of contract since 1990.
