Doctors welcome report’s call for universities to tackle racism

The BMA has welcomed a report offering practical guidance to UK universities on tackling racial harassment.
The report by Universities UK,1 which represents 140 universities, said that medical placements had been identified by the Equality and Human Rights Commission as “a common situation when students may experience racial harassment.”
Universities should review their procedures for handling racial harassment complaints, define clear channels for reporting incidents of racial harassment, and systematically collect data on reports of racial harassment, …
