Online opioid distributors must cease trading, US drug regulator warns

A warning this week from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), threatening nine online networks with injunctions and seizures unless they stopped marketing opioids, appeared to be having the desired effect, as most of the targeted websites had shut down or switched to marketing erectile dysfunction drugs two days later. It remains unclear, however, if there is any way to stop them reopening with new names and web addresses.
The web businesses targeted—which included AnonShop, TramadolHub, Eassybuyonline, and RxCash.biz—controlled some 53 websites which, the FDA said, offered for sale opioids, including tramadol and oxycodone, that are misbranded and unapproved.
