Deadline approaches to claim funding in England for continuing healthcare needs

Doctors and legal experts are urging the families of patients who have continuing healthcare needs to be aware that time is running out to claim funding for care fees from primary care trusts in England.
People must apply before 30 September this year if they believe that they should have been assessed as eligible for continuing healthcare funding between1 April 2004 and 31 March 2011.
NHS continuing healthcare payments are defined as a package of care arranged and funded solely by the NHS to meet physical or mental health needs (or both) that result from disability, accident, or illness. They can meet the care costs of people living at home or in care homes, such as someone needing rehabilitation after a stroke or spinal injury. …
