Re: Heparin to stop bleeding after cardiopulmonary bypass

Dear Sir,

1983 H. Koestering confirmed our 1981 observation of a prethrombotic state following the cardiopulmonary bypass in Göttingen. (1)

Low-dose heparin in a very early moment of beginning low-grade- intravascular coagulation (renal and pulmonary complication) is the best. (2, 3)

Heparin will guard against bleeding. Heparin will even stop bleeding.

Best wishes

Yours Friedrich Flachsbart
