The fifth paragraph compares the results of the study by Versmissen
and colleagues with the findings of a previous registry study reporting
the outcome in 2582 heterozygous patients followed from 1980 to 2006
(reference 6). The text should read: "Primary prevention resulted in a
48% reduction in coronary mortality after 1991 when statins were
prescribed routinely, although it was still 1.7 times higher in patients
aged 20-59 compared to the general population".
Erroneously, the published text reads "a 48% reduction in LDL
cholesterol after 1991...".
