A picture can speak volumes. I am therefore left wondering why - in our current age of infection control and strict aseptic techniques - the picture accompanying the paper version of this interesting editorial shows a cannula being inserted by a gloveless hand. All invasive procedures require gloves in addition to skin prep etc. I trust that this was just an unfortunate oversight.
