This was a very interesting article and serves as an excellent up to
date review of the work up of pleural effusions.
I certainly wish I had had something as good as this to refer to when I
was a medical SHO or registrar and the mention of ultrasound-guided
pleural biopsy brought back memories of struggling to get a piece of
tissue with an Abrams biopsy punch used blind.
One very minor point and I am sure just a typo but the patient's
respiratory rate was described as being 14 beats per minute. Breaths,
surely?
