I agree QOF is a barrel of a gun. I have left daytime general practice because QOF was becoming oppressive and boring. And I agree that it reduces time for patients' emotional needs. And I agree that it bribes GPs. And I agree that it has the potential to corrupt general practice with large amounts of money. However if the evidence is that reducing numbers reduces complications then it needs done. Its just that perhaps doctors might not want to do it. Not wanting to do it does not make it wrong. Somethings in life are right and proper but are boring and tedious for individuals. The oppression of the perfect as I call it.
