Re: Aequanimitas

Sokol's review presents a contrast to those expressed by a professor of medicine to me almost three decades ago. I had then just re-read Aequanimitas and was struck by the apparently sound principles demonstrated with that series of addresses and essays. My superior told me that Osler's views were dated and inappropriate to modern medical practice (1982). In retrospect, his skills were those of attracting skilled researchers and funding rather than those of a Oslerian physician.
