I completely agree with the views expressed by the authors in this letter. There is actually lack of resources and social awareness and a lack of responsibility on the part of the higher authorities. There are many women dying during child birth because of all these factors. The efforts of the government are centred only on larger cities. It is the need of the hour to increase the social awareness among women about their own care and probably a bit more pressure from the International Community would push the higher authorities to pay attention to this issue.
