Touching the Taboo

Sir, We will fondly count many 'taboos',when it comes to the life in the East in general.But when it comes to criticising us for many of our self made problems for which we all are suffering, then we will just shudder our shoulders.We forget that we too have our taboos;i.e. our sexual behaviour.The technological advancements of the West, as if gave us unrestricted permission to change and experiment with even human values and instincts. Coming directly to the point, let me remind us all that sex is a natural instinct and it is associated with ultimate pleasure.One of the behaviour which differs us from animals is tamed, briddled,controlled sexual attitude.But since we lost our directions, we have gone to experiment even with our age old well-tried social norms and systems. Last century saw us trodding even on thousands of years of our social metamorphosis and eventual norms. In the name of advancement and liberty we changed the definitions of marriage, parenthood, children etc. Todays erratic sexual attitudes are of our own making. And since it is a Taboo to critise anything but control on sexual behaviour, we see rampant teenage pregnancies, sexual diseases, family breakups, adolescent delinquency, even school fallouts, street crime etc. And all our so called solutions are nothing, but like providing keys to a thief and telling him not to open the safe. And then crying if he steals the money. The question is why to provide him with the keys in the first place. The children are not at all to be blamed. Its we. We will have to break the taboo. We will have to think on following principles. The modus operandi may differ. 1.We have to change our perception that early sex is not preventable. 2.We have to remind ourselves that uncontrolled sexual behaviour is an animal like behaviour. 3.We have to boldly change our sexual promoting attitudes. The media, to me, is the main culprit. Print and electronic both.We hypersexualise the atmosphere and expect early pregnancies to halt ! A crap, I must say. 4.Sex education! Yes. But the timing is just before marriage. as in few countries.Else it is akin to officialising and patronising sexual delinquency in proxy.It is sort of reminding them to start now.As I said sex is not like other attitudes, it is full of excitement and pleasure so they are bound to experiment. And thats it. They are already in the unretrievable spiral.And when the critical moment comes, they will not halt to search/run for your condom vending machine! Else the gaurdian hands over one condom daily,along with pocket money before sending his ward to school.(not 'father' or 'son',mind you the term has changed. We are not backward as before) 5.We have to re-do our plans from blank board to bring back our decent, human self-image.Let our future generations not be termed highly technical animals. Though we are already half way through it. It needs responsible eyes to see so.If you do not believe me, most of the net-sites would be inviting you to meet a 'partner', if you click them right now.A partner for what? For going to prayers! But it is so 'normal' to our attitude that I might look weird in pointing it out. I know sir, it may irritate many of your readers. No wonder. I have touched the taboo.
