Re: GMC Election date clarification

While the dates in the first paragraph are correct, the second paragraph of the above story contains a small inaccuracy due to a change in our election process on this occasion.

The GMC has decided to extend the closing date for nominations to 17:00 on Friday 26 August 2005, as a consequence of a problem that has arisen with nomination forms.

Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Electoral Reform Services by 17:00 on Friday 26 August 2005.

The extension of the deadline for returning completed nomination forms means that the voting period will take place later than planned. The electoral roll of doctors qualified to vote will now be determined on Friday 2 September 2005. On Friday 9 September 2005 we will send voting papers to doctors who are qualified to vote; voting papers will be sent to doctors’ registered addresses. Voting will close at 17:00 on Friday 7 October 2005.
