Dear editor, I read the article by Herbert H Nehrlich “anger is the weed, hate is the tree”. It is quite interesting and I fully agree with the author that “rapid responses” section of the journal is the most interesting section for most of the online readers. For any scientific reader, there will be opinions about the articles. All such opinions can not be published in the paper versions of the journals but they do contribute to the literature. It is not a good idea to close the “rapid responses section”. At the same time, the responses should be relevant to the topic in debate. It should not be junk or repetition of the same published material. I wish to congratulate the editor of the “rapid responses” section for the pains taking job of reading all the responses and putting them online within a few hours. This section of the journal has to continue to function the same way as it is functioning now. It would be a nice forum for the scientific community to know each other and to start interacting and contributing to the field of science. I came to know about the online version of the BMJ recently. Now I keep myself up to date by reading the articles and all the rapid responses and sharing my knowledge wherever I can. Thanks to the team of BMJ Editors. Competing interests: None declared |
