Because of the notorious nature of Melanoma , we have been advising patients to minimize sun exposure as possible.

I believe we have to strike a balance between overexposure to the sun with potential increase in melanoma incidence as well as premature aging, and underexposure which may cause hypovitaminosis D with potential for other ailments not only limited to low backpain, but including higher incidence of certain cancers, since it appears that within normal range, higher levels of vitamin D is associated with lower incidence of certain cancers.
