Re: 360-degree exposure

Perhaps I am missing the whole picture, but wouldn't it make sense for the REVIEWERS of journal articles (who approve (or reject) papers for publishing) be named at the end of every published article in a journal, mentioning their conflicts of interest (if any)? It gives those of us who didn't do MSc(statistics) a pretty good idea about who (and why) approved the article, and if that individual's ability to review a paper is up to scratch. That way the journal is also held accountable for publishing articles that are a waste of time, or giving headlines which are misleading (i refer to the latest bmj 12/2/05 where speed cameras are said to reduce crashes and related casualties, but it is later acknowledged that 'the level of evidence is poor')

Competing interests: I have to read journals!!
