In my humble experience, Bell's Palsy is a diagnosis of exclusion. It is a lower motor neurone nerve palsy of the 7th nerve and so you have to exclude other causes. In the last trust I worked in all true cases were referred from the community to the Ear, Nose and Throat department, where they were seen in the Rapid Access Clinic. None I believe were admitted.
