Re: Improved delivery or improved documentation

I would be more convinced that the improvement in care was due to a change in practice and not increased documentation of current practice if P A Margolis et al had quantified how much the improvment in screening was due to documentation of "a risk assesment" and how much was due to an increased frequency of physical tests. By only stating qualitatively that blood and skin testing "increased" we are left wondering if the increase in delivery of care was mainly due to better documentation.

In my practice it would be simple to add "AT RISK OF ANAEMIA ? :YES OR NO" to a computer consultation template for each immunisation or developmental assesment. Thus allowing data collectors to find the information quickly and easily.
