Ian D Mackenzie, Head of Information Services KT16 0PZ Send response to journal: Re: Sharing patient information electronically throughout NHS: Change of culture is needed	Langton’s points about the need for clinicians in secondary care to “take control of information technology and focus it on their clinical needs” is well made. At the acute Trust where I am Head of Information Services we have recognized the importance of this and have just appointed a Clinical Lead for Information. This post – which has a sessional commitment - is currently filled by a Consultant Anaesthetist who has a specific remit to make sure that the clinical view is represented in all the Trust’s Information and Technology plans. Whilst recognizing that we have a long way to go, we hope in this way to make Information Technology meet the needs of clinicians as well as managers. Competing interests:   None declared
