Re: Discrimination in History

Dear Editor: I invented and pioneered minimally invasive surgery and laparoscopic surgery. "Historical Obscuration" has been applied to my work so that credit due to me could be given to others. In 1972 I published the method of loop ligation which was applied by Semm in 1980 for appendectomy. On your part this may have been inadvertant. If so, you can correct this now by insisting that the truth to be made known and for the knowledge of our generations to come.

For documentation : - http://www.netrover.com/~hclarke also:- Adventures in the origin of modern operative laparoscopy. Gynaecological Endoscopy 2002,11, 223-230 ( Blackwell Publishing Ltd).

Best wishes, H. Courtenay Clarke MD
