Re: GWA Endorses New UK Health Secretary

On behalf of The General Wellness Assembly, may I warmly congratulate the Rt. Hon Dr John Reid on his recent (well-deserved) appointment as British Health Secretary.

Dr John Reid is undoubtedly the right man for the Job, as he does not carry any 'excess socio-political baggage' with him into the DOH...and will certainly be able to apply clearly focused 'independent external expertise' to the 'internal clinical anarchy' which damnfully rages on within the NHS and beyond.

May I also use this rare opportunity to humbly request that Dr Reid be given 'breathing space enough' to officially and charismatically settle into his new job; before he is perilously vilified and vituperated upon by countless aggrieved parties. Give the guy a break (for a bit).

This 'tough-talking scottish battle-axe' definitely seems to be exactly just what the grassroot citizenry of this noble country have long been waiting for...and The GWA humbly wishes him all the very best over the next few months of immensely controversial NHS Reform.

Good Luck Dr John !!!

Competing interests:   Dr Joseph Chikelue Obi MBBS MD MPH DSc FRIPH regularly criticises the Privy Council (of which Dr Reid is a functional member)...and still believes that it (and the DOH) should do much more in supporting and rehabilitating 'Problem Doctors'.
