Re: nonsense

Having worked through the BMA spreadsheet, even with best case assumptions, the figures quoted by ms Gulland are wildly optimistic for our practice. Like the white queen, we will be running ever harder to stay still.

One small point; our out of hours service costs £4,000 per partner per year; the proposed opt out will cost £6000 per partner - and cover less hours.

Re: Incompetence

I am amazed at the incompetence shown by both parties in the negotiation of the new contract for general practitioners. It defies belief that so called intelligent, well meaning people could make such profound errors in calculating a new contract, that voting has to apparently postponed while the whole thing is re-fudged.What confidence do we have that our livelyhood for which we have worked, and our profession for which we have proudly slaved, will benefit in any way from the ill prepared, ill thought and badly managed contract that will be fed to us in the usual dishonourable manner.
