Dear Colleagues, We should look at this condition at the other side. The menopause is one of the physiological conditions of women's life. Therefore in our opinion, we shouldn't manipulate this condition except in seriously symptomatic patients. Competing interests: None declared |

dear sir, i entirely agree with you that we should leave physiological conditions alone. however, our current life style have converted a physiological process into a pathological one. women face severe daily stress, plus co- morbid conditions like diabetes, htn, ihd, thyroid disorders, hyperlipidemia have taken a toll. the menopause has increasingly become premature. also falling rates of child birth, with lack of breast feeding have also distorted the physiology. women with menopause tend to be more symptomatic. also increasing longevity has resulted in osteoposis , and various nerve entrapment syndromes.HRT is a good option for relief of symptoms and protection against cvs diseases, and now reportedly for alzheimer'sdementia too. other physiological conditions also do exist like cataracts, benign prostatic enlargement in males, osteoarthritis, loss of physical strength, memory loss ,graying of hairs, wrinkling of facial skin,etc.. all of these conditions cry aloud for remedy.
