CF34 9AL Send response to journal: Re: Day case hernia repairs	Paul Moynagh (23.2.02) writes..."until recently it would have been unthinkable to repair a hernia as a day case procedure and for the patient to return to work in a fortnight;" Forty years ago, in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, E.L.Farquharson was doing two hernia repairs as day cases, under local, on many of his lists.See his "Operative Surgery", if still in print.Whether all his patients returned to work in a fortnight is doubtful.
