Editor-I write to point out an editorial error in this weeks BMJ Letters, Reference limits for haemoglobin and ferritin BMJ 2001;323:806 (6 October)

In our submitted reply to Heath et al, the third sentence started; The work of Zhu and Haas[3] does nothing to support their argument. In their words, “the study was too short, both tissue iron status and body iron stores had not reached a steady state”. The ‘in their words’ refers to Zhu and Hass, however in the published reply, the third sentence implies Heath et al say the study was too short.
