Editor-I write to point out an editorial error in this weeks
BMJ Letters, Reference limits for haemoglobin and
ferritin BMJ 2001;323:806 (6 October)
In our submitted reply to Heath et al, the third sentence
started; The work of Zhu and Haas[3] does nothing to
support their argument. In their words, “the study was
too short, both tissue iron status and body iron stores
had not reached a steady state”. The ‘in their words’
refers to Zhu and Hass, however in the published reply,
the third sentence implies Heath et al say the study
was too short.
