Re: Removal of sentence

Please can the BMJ readership note that the first - and the most important - sentence in our electronic submission was omitted in the paper publication of the BMJ today. It alluded to the fact that Professor Klim McPherson actually has no idea what the Roberts's albumin meta-analysis was about! Therein lies the danger of Evidence Based Medicine and it is of considerable concern to me that this new movement has been adopted with all the fervour of religious fundamentalism. One is reminded of Luciano Gattinoni's perspicacious observation that "Clinical Epidemiology is the graveyard of the intellect and those who perform meta-analyses no better than common grave robbers"!
