The authors are correctly describing well known pharmacological reactions to recreational drugs. The problem is that they speculate about possible problems. They support their case with circumstantial evidence. We all know the effects of recreational drug on the physiological system, from the time from medical school. What we need is more well organised, preferably multi national, epidemiological research, ESP IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER DRugs (prescribed, alcohol, nicotine etc).
