I believe this small scale study does not provide us with sound evidence to claim that there is no relation to MMR and auto immune disease increases. First, 10 years is an inadequate amount of time for a medical study to have all of the facts. Perhaps, the condition does occur in genetically comprised individuals, that had no symptoms of Autism, until triggered or enhanced by the MMR vaccine. The AAP's claims that there is absolutely no connection between the alarming increase in Autistic cases and the fairly young MMR vaccine are not credible. I have become quite suspicious of the Medical Community that allows our healthy children to be used as experimental subjects, when in fact a good number of practioners that administer these vaccines, such as Prevnar and Varicella, are actually stock holders in the pharmaceutical companies. I refuse to give my son the MMR, Varicella and Prevnar vaccines because the Medical Community will NOT know if they are helping or hurting the masses for at least 10 - 20 more years! In this case, the diseases themselves are less frightening than the overdose of under studied vaccines the AAP recommends. How can they dismiss the possibility of risk and harm with so little research and data available? No data isn't good data. I am interested to know the procedure that was followed for the testing and approving of these highly questionable vaccines. Also, how was it determined that it is safe to inject multiple doses of several vaccines in the same visit? My pediatrician's answer to this question was only to minimize the amount of needle injections to the baby. Well, I certainly do not think this minor benefit outweighs the risk of severe reactions to my healthy baby. Perhaps, it is a convenience for the nursing staff, to shorten time spent with the patients. |
