In this research paper by Ole M Ekeberg and colleagues publishedin January 2009 (BMJ 2009;338:a3112, doi:10.1136/bmj.a3112)the table in the print version (table 2 in the online version)contains errors. For pain at rest, the median values in thelocal group should be 4.5 at baseline, 3.0 at 2 weeks, and 2.0at 6 weeks (not 6.0, 4.0, and 3.0) and those for the systemicgroup should be 4.0, 2.0, and 3.0 (not 7.0, 4.0, and 5.0). Forpain in activity, the baseline values are correct, but the medianvalues for the local group should be 4.0 at 2 weeks and 3.0at 6 weeks (not 3.0 and 2.0) and those for the systemic groupshould be 4.0 and 4.0 (2.0 and 3.0). The results and conclusionsare unaffected.
