    The General Medical Council has accused a microbiologist of giving misleading evidence as an expert witness in a court case and making a dishonest claim for fees from the Legal Services Commission.

    Charles Stewart Goodwin, who at the time was a visiting professor at St George’s Hospital Medical School in London, is accused by the GMC of conduct likely to bring the profession into disrepute, in a hearing that began this week.
