During the editing of this editorial about intracranial aneurysms in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease by Albert C M Ong (BMJ 2009;339:b3763, doi:10.1136/bmj.b3763), we mistakenly twice used "ruptures" instead of "aneurysms." The last sentence of the third paragraph should start, "New aneurysms . . ." And the second sentence of the fourth paragraph should read: "The only factor that seemed to correlate with the development of new aneurysms [not "ruptures"] was a history of rupture."
