The printers' devils were mixing up commas and apostrophes in this editorial by Roger Jones (BMJ 2007;335:53, 14 Jul, doi: 10.1136/bmj.39266.662928.BE ). The final sentence of the third paragraph should read: "The role of doctors, careers in medicine, and the future of a publicly funded health service have all been questioned" [not "The role of doctors'careers in medicine, and the future of a publicly funded service . . ."].
