Former occupational health physician in the steel industry south Wales (b 1917; q St Mary's Hospital, London, 1941; FFOM, MFCM), died after a fall on 22 October 2005.

Graham Jones worked as a doctor in the steel industry in south Wales from 1946 to 1977, becoming assistant chief medical officer to the British Steel Corporation. He was interested in the effects of carbon monoxide and won awards for work on industrial dermatitis. In 1977 he received the Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal for his long term interest in the employment of disabled people. He helped set up the British Occupational Health Society in 1954, serving as honorary treasurer from 1963 to 1974 and president in 1974, and was honorary lecturer in occupational health at the Welsh National School of Medicine. He leaves a wife, Vivienne; three children; and six grandchildren.
