Do GPs deserve their pay rise?

IBM is replacing EBM

EDITOR—Income based medicine (IBM) is replacing evidence based medicine (EBM).1 When general practitioners are more concerned about whether the blood pressure is down to 140 systolic than whether the acute sciatica has subsided, a serious divergence develops between the priorities of the patient and the doctor. The government pays the piper, but we who pay the government can't call the tune.
