Learning from developing countries:
what are the lessons?
Many poor countries have
developed innovative, effective, low cost models of health care. These often
involve the community in ways rarely seen in rich countries, where most people
depend on high tech,
institution based, doctor rich, health services.
In our November theme issue on
"Learning from developing countries" we hope to flag up models of
good practice and to explore their potential transfer to other countries.
We invite readers to help us to
identify these models and to discuss their wider potential. A
selection of responses will be republished in the letters section of the theme
issue.
