Who analysed the human genome?

Bioinformaticians did---those poeple who work in the field of bioinformatics. This growing scientific field uses computer science, mathematics, physics, and biology to interpret biological data. Analysis of the human genome is one of its main achievements to date. Ardeshir Bayat (p 1018) gives an overview of its uses and of its main tools---computer software programmes and the internet. The successful clinical research teams of the future, he says, will be those that can effortlessly switch between the laboratory bench, clinical practice, and the use of these sophisticated computational tools.
