Income distribution affects health in Japan

Income inequality in Japan is comparable with that in other industrialised countries, but higher levels of individual income have more influence on perceived health than does regional income inequality. Shibuya and colleagues (p 16) say that their findings mean that we should still be concerned with reducing income inequality.
