Sample size calculation

A sample of 100 patients was used for our study. Assuming a 90% satisfaction rate with day case hysteroscopy, the size of this sample would give an 85% power of detecting a 25% difference in satisfaction rates between day case hysteroscopy and outpatient hysteroscopy, accepting a 5% type 1 error. Analysis was by intention to treat.
